Obituary of Walter William Waldo

Mr. Walter William Waldo, 82 years old of Maple Knoll Apts., died Saturday at Nathan Littauer Nursing Home, Gloversville, where he had been a patient for the past several days. He was born November 1, 1925 in Syracuse, N.Y., a son of Myron and Nina Dixon Waldo. Mr. Waldo moved to Johnstown in 1930 where he had since resided. He graduated from Johnstown High School in 1944. Mr. Waldo was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served his country during World War 2. He was employed by the Continental Telephone Co. as Northern Division Engineer, retiring in 1980. Mr. Waldo was of the protestant faith and was a Life Member of F.O.E. 1575 in Johnstown. He married the former Concetta "Lil" Fugazzotto on April 17, 1970. She died March 7, 2004. Mr. Waldo is survived by his son Alan W. Waldo of Hatboro, Pennsylvania, two daughters, Elaine C. Shull of Schenectady, NY and Sheila R. McNamee of Horsham, Pennsylvania, two stepsons, David Bellinger of Tribes Hill, NY and Ronald Bellinger of Killington, Vermont, his twin brother, Douglas D. Waldo of Westfield, Mass., four grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and three nieces. Funeral services will be held 11:00am Thursday at the Ehle Funeral Home, 15 N. William Street, Johnstown, with The Rev. Dr. R. W. Williams officiating. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Johnstown. Relatives and friends may call Wednesday from 4 until 7:00pm at the Ehle Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made: J. A.V.A.C., 231 N. Perry Street, Johnstown, NY 12095. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, Amsterdam.
