Obituary of Paul H. Damphier

Paul H. Damphier, 63, of State Hwy 67, Amsterdam, passed away unexpectedly Thursday June 12, 2008 at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam. He was born in Amsterdam on December 23, 1944. He worked in construction most of his life in Amsterdam and surrounding area. He later worked as a painter before retiring. He was of the protestant faith. Mr. Damphier enjoyed Hunting, Fishing, Camping and just being outdoors. He is survived by his wife Linda Campolungo Damphier of Amsterdam. Six children, Paul P. Damphier Sandra of Amsterdam, Jonathan L. Damphier of Amsterdam, Paula L. Swanson and her companion Roland Gruidy of Louisiana, Kathy M. Damphier of Amsterdam, Jacquelynn M. Ross of Amsterdam and Rosemari J. Ross of Amsterdam. Two brothers, Bruce Damphier of Gloversville, NY and Lester Damphier of Florida. Several grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. He was pre-deceased by his parents Lester and Margaret Damphier and two brothers, David and Allen Damphier. Survivor's also include a previous wife, Cindy Ross of Amsterdam and sisters-in-law, Irene and Ruth Damphier. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday June 18th, 2008 at 1:00P.M. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Tribes Hill, NY. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday one hour prior to the funeral service beginning at 12:00 Noon at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to G.A.V.A.C. P.O.
