Obituary of Lorraine L. Minch

Lorraine L. O'Donnell Minch, age 76, of 11 Barber Street, Apt. 13 Fonda, went home to be with her Lord and Saviour on Saturday, May 17, 2008, at St. Mary's Hospital. She was born January 30, 1932 in Cohoes, NY, the daughter of George and Prudence Dalpe O'Donnell. She was a 1949 Graduate of Gloversville High School. She was employed as a Home Health Aide for many years. She also at one time worked as a waitress at the former Carmel's Diner in Amsterdam and the former Poplar's Restaurant in Fultonville. She last was employed by Mt. Loretto Nursing Home as a C.N.A. before retiring in 1995. She was a member of the former Village Bible Church now the Saving Grace Baptist Church in Fonda, NY. She was a pioneer in getting Buckler Christian Academy started. Her life was her children whom she loved very much. She was instrumental in leading many people to Jesus Christ. Survivors include her sons, Kenneth Minch Barbara of Tribes Hill, NY, Philip Minch Suezette of Vero Beach, FL, Ted Minch Judy of Auriesville, NY and Bryan Minch Sherri of Saratoga, NY; daughters, Cynthia Close Ben of Northville, NY., Patricia PrimePastor Wade Prime of Fonda, NY and Mimi Kosinski Ed of Tribes Hill, NY; a brother, Raymond O'Donnell of Schenectady, NY; and sisters, Mildred Dake of Gloversville, NY, Gladys O'Donnell of New Berlin, NY, Patricia O'Donnell of Canada and Margaret O'Donnell of Canada. 15 Grandchildren and 6 Great-grandchildren. A daughter-in-law, Nancy Minch of Glenmont, NY. Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Minch on July 24, 1994 her sister Jane Bovee, and a daughter in law Carol McDermott Minch. Funeral Services will be Thursday May 22, 2008 at 10:00A.M. at the Saving Grace Baptist Church, 2615 State Hwy 30A, Fonda, NY with her son-in-law Pastor Wade Prime presiding. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Sand Flats, Fonda, NY. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday May 21, 2008 from 6:00 to 8:00P.M. at the Jackson & Betz Funeral Home 15 Main St. Fultonville, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Montgomery County Chapter, 260 Osborne Road, Loudonville, NY 12211 or to the Saving Grace Baptist Church, 2615 State Highway 30A, Fonda, NY 12068.
