Obituary of Robert H. Teetz

Robert H. Teetz, 79, passed away Friday May 16, 2008 at the Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville. He was born in Gloversville on January 8, 1929 the son of the late Julius and Gladys Bergman Teetz. A lifelong resident of Gloversville, Bob was a sole proprietor. He produced firewood and topsoil. He also served in the Army during the Korean War. Bob was known by many as a very unique person. He was ingenious. He was an improviser that could make anything. Bob was also a great storyteller. He enjoyed being at home on his farm and with his cats. Survivors include his lifelong companion, Caroline Hilpertshauser of Spring Hill, FL; her children: Lynn Hilpertshauser and her child of Saratoga Springs and Glenn Hilpertshauser and his four children of Hudson Falls; his longtime friends, otherwise known as his "Girls": April Hebert of Gloversville, Renee Shutts of California and Bambi Bonfey of Mayfield. He is also survived by his beloved cats Boliver and Max. Calling hours will be Monday May 19 from 5 to 8pm at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11am at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home with the Rev. Elaiani Lane officiating. Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Gloversville. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob's memory may be made to Helping Paws Rescue, 140 Old State Road, Broadalbin, NY 12025.
