Obituary of Anne Perrino Colistra

Anne Perrino Colistra, 83, of Broadway, died Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at home. Born in Little Falls, NY on May 11th, 1924 she was the daughter of the late John and Rose Perrino. Upon her marriage to Gerald "Jerry" Colistra on October 10, 1943, she moved to Amsterdam where she has resided ever since. They together ran Jerry's Coffee Shop until his death on September 1, 1975. Anne continued to run the business until her retirement in 1990. Anne took great pride in keeping her home meticulous, inside and out. She also loved to cook & bake for her family, friends and neighbors. One of her greatest joys was having company and not only feeding them, but sending them home with a care package. Anne was a devout parishoner of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, and was a true woman of faith. She took the time to visit many shut-ins, always bringing some goodies to brighten their day. Anne was also compassionate in her love for animals. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her family would like to thank all who treated her with kindness and respect. We also thank those who called her, sent her cards or visited her. It always meant so much to her and to us too. She is survived by her children, Anthony Colistra and his wife Danelle of Amsterdam and Maria Vesp and her husband John of Fort Plain; her loving grandchildren, Audra Charles Nelson, Katrina Colistra, Nicholas Denise Colistra, Jennifer Vesp, Kristine Ed Burleigh, Alicia Jeff Beebie, Erica Jeff Asmussen; cherished great grandchildren, Lily, Andrew and Ethan Nelson, Jacob and Gabrielle Burleigh, Greyson Beebie, Brody, Bryce and Savannah Asmussen; her brothers John and Domenic Perrino of Little Falls; sisters Louise Volk and Grace Buccafero of Herkimer; her childhood and lifelong friend, Mary Sandy of Amsterdam; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Anne was predeceased by her parents, husband and a brother, Vincent James Perrino. A prayer service will be conducted on Saturday, May 10, 2008 at 10 o'clock at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, followed by the Con-Celebrated Mass of Christian Burial at 11 o'clock at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited and may call this evening Friday from 4 until 7 the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to St. Mary's Church Memorial Fund or to the Montgomery County S.P.C.A. in care of the funeral home.
