Obituary of Lawrence C. Rose

Mr. Lawrence C. Rose, age 74, formerly of Gloversville, died Tuesday morning, May 6, 2008 at Wells Nursing Home Inc; Johnstown, where he received kind and considerate care for nearly two years. He was born on August 19, 1933 in Gloversville, the son of the late Charles and Anna Ricci Rose. A 1951 graduate of Gloversville High School, Larry served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was employed for 25 years as a driver for the United Parcel Service in Gloversville, and also as a bus driver for 12 years for the Gloversville Enlarged School District. Mr. Rose was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church. On June 2, 1956 he was married to Verna M.Young who survives. He is also survived by two children, Charles L. Rose Shari of Bleecker and Cheryl A. Sena Charles of Gloversville; three grandchildren, Troy Rose, Sasha Rose and Kristina Sena; and several cousins. The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St; Gloversville, where a Prayer Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday with The Rev. Kenneth Swain officiating. Interment will take place at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Johnstown.
