Obituary of Jozef Kaszuba

Jozef Kaszuba, 83, of Pawling Street, passed away peacefully Wednesday at noon at his home. Born in Przybyszowka, Poland on August 14, 1924, he was the son of and last surviving child of the late Pawel and Frances Kaminski Kaszuba. He served with the Polish Occupational Army during World War II. He worked in the coal mines in Holland following the war, and emigrated to the US in 1952. Jozef worked for the former Mohawk Carpet Mills and later Mohawk Sportswear and retired from Ward Products in 2000. Jozef will be remembered as a man with a strong work ethic who especially, in later years, loved to garden and be outdoors. He was a communicant of St. Stephen's Roman Catholic Church. In 1949, he was united in marriage to Helena Pietrzak. In addition to his beloved wife, he leaves his son, Ronald R. Kaszuba of Hagaman; his grandchildren; Christopher Kaszuba of Toms River, NJ, and Jennifer Kaszuba of Amsterdam; his great granddaughter; Karah Jennifer Kaszuba of Toms River; and a nephew; Bogdan Kaszuba and family of DePlains, Ill. Services are Monday at 8:00 am at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, followed by the Mass Of Christian Burial at 9:00 am at St. Stephen's Church, Hagaman. Fr. Ronald Matulewicz, celebrant. Relatives and friends arte invited and may call on Sunday from 3-6 pm at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to Community Hospice Of Amsterdam or to the Hagaman Volunteer Fire Dept. both in care of the funeral home office.
