Obituary of Velma Snyder Grandy

Velma Snyder Grandy, 91, of Auriesville Rd. Fultonville, NY passed away Sunday April 27, 2008 at her home with her loving family by her side. Born in Amsterdam, NY on September 6, 1916 a daughter of Sealey and Ethel Van Epp Snyder. She was a lifelong Fultonville and Glen area resident and attended local schools. Mrs. Grandy was a homemaker. She was a member of the Glen Reformed Church. She enjoyed gardening, planting flowers, taking care of plants and embroidery. She married Edgar M. Grandy in July of 1937. He passed away on April 15, 2007. Her loving family includes two daughters, Ruth Lohmeyer of Amsterdam and Donna Jackson and her husband John of Johnstown, NY. Seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Mrs. Grandy was pre-deceased by a brother Kenneth Snyder. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday April 30th, 2008 at 1:00P.M. at the Jackson & Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main St., Fultonville with Rev. Jill Farnham presiding. Interment will be in Maple Ave, Cemetery, Fultonville, NY The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 12 Noon to 1:00P.M. prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
