Obituary of Mauricette M. Nare

Mauricette M. Nare, 79, of Indian Road, passed away early Tuesday morning, April 15, 2008 at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam. She was born in Bourdeau, France on August 22, 1928 a daughter of the late Maurice and Louise Calbet. At the young age of 4 years, during the time of the Great Depression, Mauricette and her family relocated to the United States to settle in New York City, where she was raised and attended school. In 1944 they moved to the upstate area to settle in Stone Arabia, where Mauricette met and married Howard P. Nare of Fonda in October of 1944. Mauricette worked for several years for Arkell & Smith in Canajoharie and Swarts in Fultonville. She was a member of the Ephratah Rod and Gun Club, the Ladies Home Bureau, and the Lasselville Seniors. She attended Fonda Reformed Church and often volunteered at the Salem United Methodist Church in East Stone Arabia. Mauricette was a very kind and giving individual who always took time to help family, friends and neighbors in need. She very much enjoyed bowling, gardening, and spending time with her family and many friends. Her loving family includes her husband of nearly 64 years, Howard Nare of Stone Arabia, her sons; Donald Judith Nare of Johnstown and Russell Elizabeth Nare of East Berlin, PA, her brother; Jacques Helen Calbet of Stone Arabia, her grandchildren; Jason Michele Nare and Chad Erin Nare all of Stone Arabia, Colleen Douglas Johnson of Ft. Myers, FL, Pamela Nare of Ocala, FL, Amanda Wilson of Mechanicsburg, PA, and Curtis Nare of Fairfax, VA, and her great-grandchildren; McKay, Dawson and Garret Nare, Francesca and Joseph Nare all of Stone Arabia, Darian Nare of Ocala, FL, Alexandra "Lexi" Nare and Rhianna Wilson both of Mechanicsburg, PA. In addition to her parents, Mauricette was predeceased by her loving daughter, Deborah Nare in 1974, and her sister, Violet Resila. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 19, 2008 at Fonda Reformed Church, Broadway, Fonda, NY, with the Rev. Kenneth Dingman officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Fonda. The family will receive relatives and friends Friday evening from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Jackson & Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main Street, Fultonville. Memorial contributions may be made in Mauricette's memory to the Ephratah Rod & Gun Club, Ephratah Volunteer Fire Department, or Fort Plain Volunteer Fire Department in care of the funeral home.
