Obituary of Angelina Traina

Angelina Traina, 99, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning at the Edward L. Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility. Born in Amsterdam on January 14, 1909, she was the daughter of Gerlando and Lucy DeStefano Constantino. She and her late husband were the owners of the former Isola Salina Market in the city's east end. She also owned the former Catherine's Dress Shop before retiring many years ago. Following her retirement, she moved to Margate Florida where she resided for twenty five years, returning to Amsterdam five years ago. Angelina was a communicant of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam and was a member of it's former Daughters Of Santa Marina. She was also a member in Florida, of St. Vincent's Church in Margate. Her husband, Bartolo Traina passed away in 1956. She also lost two sons, Vincent and Joseph Traina, and her daughter Catherine Bucciferro who died one year ago to the day Angie passed, and grandchildren, Felix Traina Jr. and Geraldine "Gigi" Traina. Her loving family includes her sons; Gerlando Angelina Traina of Miami, Fla., Bartolo Josephine Traina of Coral Springs Fla., and Felix Loretta Traina of Stuart Fla. and Saratoga Springs, NY; her son in law, Frank Bucciferro of Amsterdam; a brother; Vincent Constantino of Miami; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren also survive. Services are Friday at 8:30 am at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, followed by the Mass Of Christian Burial at 9:15 am at St. Michael The Archangel Church. Fr. Lawrence J. Decker, celebrant. Entombment will follow in the family mausoleum in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ft. Johnson. Calling hours are Thursday from 5-8 pm at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to St. Michael's Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home office.
