Obituary of Mae C. Andreae

Mrs. Mae C. Andreae, 83, of Coolidge Rd., Amsterdam, died Saturday morning March 22, 2008 at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam. Born in Amsterdam, NY on November 10, 1924 a daughter of Irving and Nellie Collins. She was a lifelong resident of Amsterdam and was 1942 graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School in Amsterdam. Mrs. Andreae was employed for many years in the Correspondents Division of the U.S. Naval Depot in Scotia. She was a member of the former Emmanuel Presbyterian church in Amsterdam. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Montgomery County Historical Society. Mae enjoyed cooking and taking short trips with her husband to Toronto, Montreal, Winnipeg, Idaho Falls and Boca Raton, Florida. She married Marcus C.T. Andreae in 1958. In addition to her loving husband survivor's include one brother, Irving Collins of Saratoga, NY. Two sisters, Margaret Putman and Jane Rickert both of Williamstown, MA. One nephew Roger Putman. Cousins and friends also survive. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday March 26, 2008 at 11:00A.M. at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY. Interment will be later in the spring in Pine Grove Cemetery, Tribes Hill, NY. The family will receive relatives and friends one hour prior to the funeral service on Wednesday beginning at 10:00A.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Salvation Army, 267 Market St. Amsterdam, NY 12010.
