Obituary of Regina Frisch

Regina "Jean" Frisch, 93, formerly of Amsterdam and Gloversville, passed away Friday, March 21, 2008 at Wesley Health Care in Saratoga Springs. She was born in Amsterdam June 14, 1914 daughter of the late Casper and Anna Warner Smitka. Jean was raised in Amsterdam and attended St. Mary's Institute. She married Max Frisch on October 8, 1932, he predeceased her on February 14, 1990. Jean was a homemaker who enjoyed caring for her family. In addition, she and her husband, Max, owned and operated Frisch's Market in Amsterdam and Perth for several years. Following their retirement, they relocated to Florida for nearly 20 years until 1992 when Jean moved back to Gloversville after Max's passing. Jean attended St. Joseph's Church in Broadalbin and was a member of the Perth Seniors. In addition to her husband and her parents, Jean was predeceased by a son, Edward Frisch, in 1948 and a great-grandson, Ryan Murray in 2001. Her loving family includes her son David L. Frisch and his wife, Barbara of Saratoga Springs, two grandchildren, Lisa Murray and her husband Jim of Wilton and Michael Frisch and his wife, Ania of Atlanta, GA, eight great-grandchildren, Kyle Klopstock, Taylor Murray, Jimmy Murray, Julia Frisch, Karolina Frisch, Brendan Murray and his wife Cindy, Rory Murray and Ashley Murray, and six great-great grandchildren, Tyler Murray, Maecy Rickman, and Shea, Lexi, Jack and Tessa Murray. Jean also has one expected great-grandchild on the way. Funeral Services will be at 11:00AM on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue in Amsterdam with Fr. Anthony Gulley, officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Fort Johnson. Contributions in Jean's memory may be made to Wesley Health Care, 131 Lawrence Street, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
