Obituary of Dorothy Vinehout

Dorothy Walsh Vinehout, 71, of the Roosevelt Apartments, passed away Friday morning at St. Mary's Hospital with loving family at her side. Born in the Town Of Root on June 12, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Alice Gordon Walsh. She attended local schools and also Christian College in Allentown PA. Dorothy worked as a clerk for several businesses years ago, but primarily was a home maker. She excelled at cooking and baking, and was a meticulous house keeper. She was a devoted member of the Randall Christian Church. Dorothy was married to Joseph Petroski, and later to Robert Vinehout. He predeceased her in 2001. Her brothers Raymond, Ward and Harold, and sisters, Mildred and Rose Marie also predeceased her. She leaves her children; Michael Petroski of Delray Florida, Gail Joseph Morris of Severn, Md., and Susan Robert Zea of Amsterdam; Brothers, William Walsh of Amsterdam, Ralph Walsh of Va., and Charles Walsh of Ft. Johnson; sisters; Edna Pierce and Roselyn Dybowski both of Amsterdam; Florence Waite of Ashland, Va., Muriel Schlicht of Schenectady, Wanetta Klingbiel of Pa., and Laura Zagata of Ballston Spa; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Services are Tuesday at 1:00 pm at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue. The Rev. Eric Handel officiating. Spring Interment will take place in Broadalbin Mayfield Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday from 5-8 pm at the funeral home. Contributions may be made in Dorothy's name to Community Hospice Of Amsterdam or the Randall Christian Church, both in care of the funeral home.
