Obituary of Genevieve Skiff Hage

Genevieve Skiff Hage, 82, of 14400 Homecrest Road, Silver Spring, Maryland, passed away February 13, 2008 at her home with her husband, Nave Hage, by her side. They were married May 22, 1955 at St. Mary's Church in Amsterdam. She was born September 3, 1925 in the Town of Northampton, the daughter of the late Harry and Florence Ernst Skiff. She was a devoted wife and loved her family and home. In addition to her parents, Genevieve was predeceased by her brother Elwin H. Skiff and her sister-in-law Mary Hage. Survivors include her sister-in-law Mildred Skiff of Gloversville, two brothers-in-law: Louis Hage of Maryland and Joseph Hage of Florida, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. Genevieve graduated from Perth Central School and the former Gloversville Business School. She was employed at the U.S. Naval Depot in Scotia, NY for many years. She moved to Philadelphia, PA with her husband when the U.S. Naval Depot moved its operations there. Her hobbies included playing the piano, the accordion and polka dancing. Arrangements are by Walrath and Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville. A graveside service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 25th, 2008 at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville, with The Reverend Christopher Hamm officiating.
