Obituary of Adelaide Leone Negri

Mrs. Adelaide Leone Negri, 86, formerly of Ridge Rd. Broadalbin, and most recently a resident of Park Hill Adult Home, Amsterdam passed away Tuesday morning February 5th, 2008 at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam. Born in Polia Province of Catanzaro, Italy on October 7, 1921 a daughter of Joseph and Antonia Bova Leone. She attended local schools in Italy and was a resident of Milan Italy for most of her life. She also lived for a short time in Ferrara Italy. Mrs. Negri worked for the National Telephone Company in Milan, Italy for many years as an Executive Secretary. She came to the United States in 2000. She was of the Roman Catholic Faith. Mrs. Negri enjoyed traveling, crocheting and sewing. On July 4th, 2004 Mrs. Negri became a United States Citizen. She married Amedeo Negri on July 28, 1948. He passed away on April 30, 1999. Adelaide is survived by many nieces and nephews of which include, Giuseppi and Matilda DeFalco, Donato & Enrica DeFalco, Joseph and Erma Leone, Vincent and Barbara Leone, Mary Leone, Angelina and George Dasher, William Leone, Adelaide & Michael Annunziata, Francis Sacconi and Anthony Leone. Several grand nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Her favorite pet Pug Dog Milo also survives. She was predeceased by her brothers and sisters, Anthony, Joseph, Maria Eufemia, Vitina, Vincenzo and Bettina. Funeral services will be held on Thursday February 7, 2008 at 11:00A.M. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam with Father Pascal "Pat" Iannotti presiding. Interment will be in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Amsterdam. Calling hours are private and will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
