Obituary of Mary Blowers

Mary Blowers, 97, passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at Nathan Littauer Hospital. She was born April 11, 1910 the daughter of Emma Rabitoy and Auguste Girard. She was educated in Gloversville schools and was a graduate of both Gloversville High School and Business School. She worked as a glove maker at the family business, Suburban Glove Company in Mayfield, but also spent many happy years as a home maker. She was a faithful member of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church in Gloversville. Mary was predeceased by her husband, Melvin E. Blowers, whom she married January 15, 1929. Survivors include two sons: Donald C. Blowers Beverly of Ballston Lake and Willard G. Blowers Janice of South Windsor, Connecticut; a daughter-in-law: Florence Kuebaugh of Meco; one brother: Adelph Girard Virginia of Gloversville; two sisters: Jeanette Morgan of Gloversville and Emma James of Los Angeles, California; five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Mary was predeceased by a son, Richard E. Blowers. Family and friends are invited and may call Saturday, February 2 from12-1 p.m. at the Kobuskie-Konik Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. with the Very Reverend Donald Czelusniak officiating. Interment will take place at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Gloversville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary's memory to The American Heart Association, 440 New Karner Rd.
