Obituary of Leona A. Wheadon

Leona A. Wheadon, 92, of Pickle Hill Road, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 15, 2007 at her home. She was born in Ft. Plain on November 30, 2007 daughter of the late Willard and Izora Ash Ward. Leona was a life resident of the Ft. Plain area and was of the Lutheran Faith having attended St. Paul?s Lutheran Church. She worked at the Village Coffee Shop in Ft. Plain and Canajoharie Manufacturing in earlier years. She married Arthur J. Wheadon on May 31, 1952 in Ft. Plain and spent more than 55 wonderful years with him. Leona enjoyed crocheting, reading, hooking rugs, cooking and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and most recently her first great-grandson. She will be sadly missed. Her loving family includes her husband, Arthur J. Wheadon of Ft. Plain, her daughter, Judy Keith King of Ft. Plain, her grandchildren, Clint King of Ft. Plain, Jason Kate King of Mt. Vision, and Jessica King of Ft. Plain, one great-grandson, Tyler King of Mt. Vision, a nephew, Dale Elaine Ward of Ft. Plain, two great-nieces and their families, Nancy Wengeneck of Rochester, MN and Debbie Waner of Ft. Plain, and one great-nephew and his family, Tom Ward of Palatine Bridge. In addition to her parents, Leona was predeceased by a brother, Howard Ward. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 18, 2007 at Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego St., Canajoharie, NY with Rev. Kenneth Dingman, officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends one hour prior to the funeral service beginning at 10:00AM at the funeral home.
