Obituary of Daniel F. Krahmer

Daniel Pancho F. Krahmer, 71, passed away peacefully Sunday afternoon with his daughter at his bedside. He resided at the Edward L Wilkinson RHCF for nearly four years. Danny was born on May 4, 1936. He was one of six children born to Louis and Eleanor Alter Krahmer. He graduated from Wilbur H. Lynch School and was a life long resident of the area. Danny worked many years at Bojud Knitting Mill as a machine setter, where he made many life long friends. He then worked at Capital Vial in Fultonville until he retired in 2000. Danny grew up loving and singing opera music; Mario Lanza was his favorite singer. He traveled many weekends to follow stock car racing with his family and friends. His favorite driver was Lou ?The Monk? Lazzaro. He was also an avid fan of the New York Yankees; he never missed a game. Danny loved nothing more than his two grandchildren. Even though he was in a wheelchair, he came over to their house every week, no matter what the weather, to play chess, Battleship or even video games. They gave him great joy. His grandchildren love their ?Pa Pa?. He was predeceased by his loving son, Michael Krahmer in 1993. Survivors include a daughter, Donna Krahmer-Carlone and her husband Brian of Tribes Hill, New York; three brothers, Donald Krahmer of Florida, Doug Krahmer of Tribes Hill and David Krahmer of Pattersonville, New York; a sister, Betty DiCaprio of Amsterdam and two grandchildren, Nicholas and Benjamin Carlone. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Danny was never a big spender of money, however he loved his cats and dogs and always donated to the Amsterdam SPCA, he would encourage everyone to donate to your local SPCA in his memory. It was the request of Danny that there be no funeral services or calling hours.
