Obituary of Kenneth Stark

Kenneth M. Stark, Sr. 76, of Division St. Amsterdam, passed away Friday morning October 19, 2007 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady following a long illness. Born in Amsterdam, NY on March 5, 1931 a son of George and Lena Sands Stark. He lived in Amsterdam and at one time in Schenectady, NY. He attended Amsterdam Schools. Mr. Stark was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran of the Korean War. He was employed by the city of Amsterdam for a time as a bus driver, he also worked at the former Big N in shipping and receiving and at the Imperial Women?s Clothing of Schenectady also in shipping and receiving. Kenneth Sr. went to Technical School to become an auto mechanic. He then worked for a time at Albany Dodge. He was last employed for CDTA as a Bus Driver in Schenectady from 1975 until his retirement in 1983. Mr. Stark was a communicant of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Amsterdam. He married Faith Morini Stark who survives of Amsterdam. He is also survived by five sons, Joseph Stark Kathy Mucha of Amsterdam, Kenneth Stark Jr. Lisa of Amsterdam, NY, Louis Stark Bonnie of Gloversville, NY, George and Sarah Stark of Amsterdam, Michael Stark Amanda of Amsterdam, NY, two daughters, Linda PersicoFelix of Amsterdam, NY and Hope DevineTimothy Podeswa Glenville, NY. Two Brothers, Harold Stark and Richard Stark. Four sisters, Norma Stark, Geraldine Kaczor, Florence Kazala and Shirley Skowronek Ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and Mother-in-Law, Lena Morini and sister-in-law, Grace Perfetti also survive. Two pre-deceased sisters, Thelma Winney, Dorothy Casabonne and father-in-law, Louis Morini. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday October 22, 2007 at 11:15A.M. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Roman Catholic Church, St. John St. Amsterdam with the Rev. Lawrence J. Decker presiding. Calling hours are private and will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be at a later date in St. Mary?s Cemetery, Ft. Johnson, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude?s Children?s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN, 38105.
