Obituary of James F. Rogers

James F. Rogers III, age 60, of Overlook Court passed away Monday evening at the Albany Medical Center after a short illness. Born June 28, 1947 in Amsterdam, New York, he was the son of Dorothy Kaufman Rogers Auspelmyer and the late James Rogers Jr. In 1965, Jim graduated from the Wilbur H. Lynch High School in Amsterdam. He attended FMCC where he graduated with an associates degree in English. Upon graduation he then attended Sienna College were he received a bachelor?s degree in English. He later received a Masters degree in Business at the University of Virginia. Jim was employed by Key Bank in 1969 until retiring in 2000 at which time he was vice-president of several Key Bank locations throughout the Hudson Valley area. In 2004, he worked for Devearux in Redhook Dutchess County New York until 2006. He was then employed by Housing Resources of Columbia County as Chief Financial Officer until recently retiring due to ill health. Jim loved golfing, was a fifth generation Yankees fan, loved spending time with his family and doing crossword puzzles. He also played on the DiBlasi?s softball team for many years and the basketball and softball teams of Russo?s Grill along with the Sunday School basketball the team of Trinity Lutheran Church in Amsterdam He was a Kiwanis club member in Athens New York and he was of the Lutheran faith. Jim is survived by his fiancée Barbara Clineman of Philmont and her children Sandra Ann Trotter, Stacey Lynn Peters and Steven John Clineman; 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; 2 daughters, Shelley Lynn Rogers of Baytown, Texas and Tracey Anne Rogers of Houston, Texas; his mother, Dorothy Kaufman Rogers Auspelmyer of Amsterdam; a sister, Linda Cramer and her husband Charles of Greenville, South Carolina; 2 grandchildren, Courtney Lynn Rogers and James Rogers Baer and a niece, Melissa Marie Cramer. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 4, 2007 at 2:00pm at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY with the Rev. William A. Clasen officiating. Burial will take place in Fairview Cemetery in Amsterdam. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 7pm and Thursday from 1 to 2pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Jim?s memory to the St. Jude?s Children?s Cancer Research Hospital, 504 St. Judes Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the Ronald McDonald House, 139 South Lake Avenue, Albany, New York 12208.
