Obituary of Paul Anthony Morrell

Paul Anthony Morrell 59, of Amsterdam, NY passed away peacefully Friday, September 21, 2007 surrounded by his family following a courageous battle with ALS Lou Gehrig?s Disease. Paul was born on February 19, 1948 in Albany NY to Robert Morrell and Patricia Tucci Morrell both of who predeceased him. Paul grew up and was educated in Amsterdam, NY. He was a 1965 graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School. He earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Sienna College in 1970. At one time he aslo served in the U.S. Army as a Medic. Paul worked as a certified Information Systems Security Professional and was employed by the New York State Courts for over 30 years until retiring in 2005. He leaves behind his loving family, his wife Linda Barker Morrell whom he married in 1968, his son, Joshua Morrell of Amsterdam and daughter Molly Morrell of Charlotte, North Carolina. His brother, David Morrell and his wife Robin of Glen Cove, NY. His nephews, Matthew Morrell and Benjamin Morrell of Northport, NY and Joseph Piszczatowski of Glen Cove, NY. Also his brother in law Len Barker, Sister in Law Karla Barker and Nephew Bryce Barker of Saranac Lake, NY. Aunts and cousins also survive as well as ?The Guys from the Coffee Shop?. Paul will be sadly missed. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday at 10:00A.M. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam NY with Father Christopher Smith presiding. Committal of Cremated Remains will follow in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery, Amsterdam. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday September 24, 2007 from 4:00 to 8:00P.M. at the funeral home.
