Obituary of Paul Dingo

Mr. Paul Dingo, 99 years old, formerly of Lindbergh Avenue, died Monday at St. Mary?s Hospital. Mr. Dingo was born January 19, 1908 in Little Falls, N.Y., a son of Paul and Elizabeth Smolinski Dingo. He moved to the Amsterdam area as a young man and attended Amsterdam schools. Mr. Dingo had been employed by the former Mohawk Carpet Mills before accepting a position as a machinist for the General Electric Co. in Schenectady. He worked there for over 28 years before retiring in 1973. Mr. Dingo was a member of the GE Quarter Century Club, was an avid Bowler until his late 80?s and enjoyed his garden of flowers and vegetables.Mr. Dingo married the former Agnes Wicenciuk April 13, 1929. She died July 13, 1997 after 68 years of marriage. He is survived by his daughter Dorothy Adamkoski, and her husband John, of Amsterdam; his sister Rose Parks of Schenectady; his grandson Robert Adamkoski, Sr. and his wife Holly, of Broadalbin; 4 great grandchildren, Robert Adamkoski, Jr., and his wife Tanya, Brian Adamkoski, Rebecca Reed, and her husband Kris, and Jacqueline Szala; 3 great great grandchildren, Alivia, Schuyler and Tiffany; nieces and nephews.Mr. Dingo was predeceased by his brother Edward Dingo, 4 sisters; Sue Williams, Elizabeth DeLuc, Christine Wicenciuk and Kate Turner, and his granddaughter Paula Szala.Funeral services will be held 9:30am Thursday, at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave., with The Rev. Pascal A. Iannotti officiating. Burial is in Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 until 7:00pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.
