Obituary of Daniel Singleton

Daniel ?Boone? Singleton, 58, of Prospect Street, passed away Thursday at St. Mary?s Hospital in Amsterdam. Born June 19, 1949 in Amsterdam, New York, he was the son of Thomas and Marilyn Phoenix Singleton. He was a 1967 graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School. Dan was employed as a security guard for the Adirondack Knitting Mills and later worked as a machine operator for the Amsterdam Printing & Litho Company. He also worked as a bartender over the years for local establishments, noted for his outgoing personality. Dan loved spending time with his family and friends and enjoyed their company. Dan was an avid lover of Rock & Roll, he also enjoyed watching sports and he played Men?s recreational Softball for Lorenzo?s. Dan leaves behind, to carry on his memories, his long time companion of 15 years, Andrea Bublak; two sons, Roman Singleton of Tribes Hill, NY and Boone Singleton of Amsterdam; a daughter, Tina Schiavo of Johnstown, NY; two brothers, David Singleton of Port Orange, FL, and Timothy Terry Singleton of Fort Hunter, NY; a sister, Mrs. Dona Fred Quenzer of the Town of Day, NY; two grandchildren, Mariah Singleton and Anthony Schiavo; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Dan was predeceased by a brother, Thomas Singleton, in 1990. Funeral services will be held 1:30pm on Monday at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY. Burial will take place in Hagaman Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 4 to 7 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Dan?s memory to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Road, Loudonville, NY 12211.
