Obituary of Diane Weaver

Diane Weaver, 59, of Bunn Street passed away on Wednesday, August 15, 2007 at St. Mary?s Hospital in Amsterdam. She was born in Amsterdam on June 9, 1948 daughter of the late Clayton C. and Alice Nethaway Thompson. Diane was raised and attended schools in the Amsterdam area. She was also a 1966 graduate of Delhi Institute. In her earlier years Diane worked in various jobs including a position for the State of New York in the tax department and for Noteworthy in Amsterdam. She was a former member of the Women of the Moose in Gloversville. Diane was a collector of ?pig? memorabilia and enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her loving family includes her daughter, Jennifer Weaver of Amsterdam, three brothers, Dwight Thompson of Fonda, Ernest Laura Thompson of Mount Upton and Roger Thompson of Walden, two sisters, Esther Jump and Sylvia Covey both of Amsterdam, and one grandson, Daniel James VanAken. Three step-children, five step-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Besides her parents, Diane was predeceased by her husband Daniel Weaver in 1992, her fiancé, Stephen Edward Birch in 2005, three sisters, Elinor Gunnerson, Ruth Grotevant and Louise Lewis, and one brother, Clayton S. Thompson. Funeral Services will be at 9:00AM on Monday, August 20, 2007 at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY 12010 with Rev. Cynthia Leonard, officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 to 5:00PM at the funeral home. Interment will follow services in Hagaman Mills Cemetery.
