Obituary of Antoinette Pollifrone Barone

Amsterdam, New York-- Antoinette Pollifrone Barone, 97, of Northampton Road, Amsterdam, passed away unexpectedly Friday afternoon, at St. Mary?s Hospital in Amsterdam, with her loving family at her side. Born May 17, 1910 in Reggio Colabria, Italy. She was the daughter of the late Francisco and Theresa Lemintia Pollifrone. She attended local schools in Amsterdam; was employed as a hairdresser for the former Diamond?s Hair Salon in Amsterdam, and was a homemaker. Antoinette was a parishioner of St Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church. She loved spending time with her family, cooking and gardening. In June of 1929, she married Phillip Barone who died in 1990. Survivors include three sons; Frank Barone Grace of Louisville, Kentucky, Norman Barone Cathleen of Point Pleasant, New Jersey, and Ronald Barone Michelle of Amsterdam, New York; a daughter-in-law, Lillian Barone of Amsterdam; Six Grandchildren; Christopher Barone, Jason Barone, Ronald John R.J. Barone, James Phillip J.P. Barone, Serena Barone, and Theresa Barone Lopez; Six Great Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins also survive. Antoinette was predeceased by a son; Supervisor Anthony Barone and four sisters; Cathryn Melara, Angiolina Cosentino, Josephine Barone and Vera Veneroso. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday at 10am at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11am at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, Grove Street, Amsterdam, New York, with her nephew, Reverend Joseph Veneroso, as celebrant. Burial will take place at St. Michael?s Cemetery in Amsterdam. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4-7 pm at the funeral home.
