Obituary of Ruth W. Henry

Mrs. Ruth W. Henry, 85 years old, formerly of E. Third Avenue, Johnstown, died Tuesday at Mt. Loretto Nursing Home in Amsterdam, where she had been a patient for the past several years. Mrs. Henry was born November 10, 1921 in Gloversville, a daughter of Fred and Elizabeth Foland Walter. She was a life long area resident and a graduate of Gloversville High School. Mrs. Henry served with the U.S. Army during WW2 attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. She was employed as a Hostess by the former Johnstown Hotel for many years and then by OTB in Johnstown until her retirement. Mrs. Henry was a member of St. John?s Episcopal Church in Johnstown. She married Russell W. Henry on July 3, 1949. He died June 30, 2003. Mrs. Henry is survived by her son Gary W. Henry of Johnstown, her 3 daughters: Roberta H. Bellinger of Ft. Johnson. NY, Dawn M. Henry of Johnstown, NY, and Jackie H. Roy of Meredith, NH. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren: Jennifer Vonder Heide, Mary Beth Hill, Rebecca Polidore, Jeanine Lo Destro, Jonathon, Michael and Mary Roy, Tammy Muckenfuss, Jessica and Patrick Henry and Keith and Lindsay Bellinger, 16 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. The Office For The Burial of The Dead will be read and Holy Eucharist celebrated 11:00am Saturday at St. John?s Episcopal Church, by The Rev. Ted J. Monica. Burial with full military honors will take place in Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 4 until 7:00pm at Ehle Funeral Home, 15 N. William Street, Johnstown. Memorial contributions may be made: St. John?s Episcopal Church, 1 N. Market Street, Johnstown, NY 12095. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, Amsterdam.
