Obituary of John Shuttleworth

John ?Jack? Shuttleworth, age 64, of County Highway 110, Sacandaga Lake, passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2007, at St. Mary's Hospital. He was born April 18, 1943 in Amsterdam, New York, the son of the late Clayton and Mary Barkley Shuttleworth. He was a 1961 graduate of St. Mary's Institute and also graduated from Siena College. Jack was formerly employed by Montgomery County as the Real Property Tax Director from 1973-1978 and then served as the Real Property Tax Director in Fulton County from 1978 to his retirement in 2001. He also served as the President of the New York State Association of County Directors of Real Property Tax Services from 1989 to 1990. He also served on their Board of Directors from 1990 to 2001. He lived on Sacandaga Lake, where he could often be found boating or kayaking. He enjoyed Cape Cod, where he and his wife spent every anniversary. Jack was an avid basketball fanatic and held season tickets at Siena College. He loved his Airedale dogs. Jack was married June 23, 1975 to the former Jacqueline Morris. Survivors include his wife, Jacqueline M. Shuttleworth of Sacandaga Lake, New York; his sister, Anne Jocelyn Shuttleworth of Niskayuna, New York; one aunt; one uncle; several cousins and his favorite dog, Schooner. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, North Street, Broadalbin with the Rev. Thomas Morrette as celebrant. Interment will take place at Northampton Cemetery at Fish House, Broadalbin. Calling hours will be Sunday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Jeffords & Stewart Funeral Home, 85 West Main Street, Broadalbin, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jack's memory to the American Heart Association, 440 New Karner Road Albany, NY 12205.
