Obituary of Harold L. Kretser

Harold L. Kretser, 53, of Union Street passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Amsterdam on August 31, 1953 son of the late Harold Kretser and Mary Kilmartin. Harold was a life resident of the Fultonville area and attended Fonda/Fultonville Schools. He worked as a truck driver and machine operator for Santos Construction in Amsterdam for several years. He was a member of the Glen Reformed Church and a past member of the Fultonville Volunteer Fire Department. Harold was an avid hunter and fisherman. He especially enjoyed deep-sea fishing and was a big fan of NASCAR Racing. He will be sadly missed by family and friends. Besides his parents, Harold was predeceased by one granddaughter, Katerina Lottman. Harold?s loving family includes his wife, the former Caroline Lusso of Fultonville, whom he married January 1, 2000 at Randall Reformed Church, two sons, Richard Sheree Kretser of Fultonville, Bradley Julia Kretser of Fonda, two daughters, Tina David Putnam and Kelly Kretser both of Amsterdam, a step-son, Timothy Dawn McMurray of Rotterdam Jct., three step-daughters, Tina Lawrence Sweet of Fonda, Trista Durrin of Tribes Hill, and Tarin Craig Warner of Fonda, three brothers, Raymond Kilmartin of Fonda, Ronald Kilmartin of Stoney Creek, and Fred Lohmeyer of Gloversville, and a sister, Vivian Sweeney of Johnstown. Nineteen grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral Services will be at 3:30PM Thursday, May 24, 2007 at Jackson & Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main Street, Fultonville, NY with Rev. Stacey Midge of the Glen Reformed Church officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Fonda. The family will receive relatives and friends from 2:00PM to 3:30PM at the funeral home. Donations in Harold?s memory may be made to Hospice of Amsterdam, 246 Manny?s Corners Road, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
