Obituary of James C. Schuyler

Mr. James C. Schuyler, 78, of Orchard Street, Canajoharie, passed away Sunday evening at his home.Born on April 3, 1929 he was the son of the late Clarence G. and Jennie E. Buckley Schuyler. He was a lifelong area resident and a 1948 graduate of Canajoharie High School. He received his apprentice training from General Electric and worked there for a time. He then later worked for the Environment One Corporation in Schenectady until his retirement.In 1951, Jim was drafted into the Unites States Army, and served with the Combat Engineers. In January of 1953 he was honorably discharged.Survivors include his wife, the former Madeline Augustine, whom he married on July 18, 1954; two daughters, Nicki Schuyler Alfred Orendorff and Patricia Larry Laux, all of Canajoharie, NY; two sons, Philip Rebecca Schuyler of Saratoga Springs, NY and Paul Robin Schuyler of Bethel, CT; one sister, Eleanor Jean Schuyler of Amsterdam, NY; seven grandchildren, Stephanie Michael Montanye, Jennifer Laux, Amy Mason, Steven Laux, Joseph Mason, Carly Schuyler, Shane Schuyler; two great grandsons, Jacob and Riley Montanye; several nieces, nephews and cousins.He was predeceased by two brothers, William and Philip Schuyler; and one grandson, Robbie Mason.A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 9, 2007 at 11a.m. at the Ft. Plain Cemetery in Ft. Plain, NY. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday evening from 4 until 7 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mid- County Volunteer Ambulance Service, P.O. Box 126, Canajoharie, NY 13317.Arrangements have been entrusted to the Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317.
