Obituary of Harry W. Newkirk

Mr. Harry W. Newkirk, Jr. 74, of Pine Street, Tribes Hill, died Friday evening at Albany Medical Center. Born in Westchester, PA on January 13, 1933, a son of Harry W. and Evelyn Isles Newkirk, Sr. He was a resident of Tribes Hill for most of his life. He was a 1952 graduate of the former Fultonville High School. Mr. Newkirk was employed for Anderson Instruments in Glen, NY retiring in June of 1998. Mr. Newkirk loved the outdoors. He was a member of the Town of Mohawk Zoning Board, the Tribes Hill Fish & Game Club, Bleeker Fish & Game Club, the Tribes Hill Volunteer Fire Department and was very active with the Boy Scouts of America which had been a lifelong relationship. Mr. Newkirk was of the Presbyterian faith. He married Margaret T. Tallmadge Newkirk on May 19, 1956. In addition to his wife survivor?s include, one son, Mark W. Newkirk and his companion Kathy, of Tribes Hill, NY., two daughters, Eileen M. Lynaugh David of Gloversville, NY, Kathleen N. De Guair Bernard of Kamuela, Hawaii, one brother, Charles J. Newkirk Janet of Sprakers, NY. Seven grandchildren, Matthew, Jade, Jordon, Melissa, Franny, Renee and Jadyn. Two godsons, Justin LaBarge and Joseph Barbuti. Nieces, Nephews and cousins also survive. Memorial services will be held 6:00pm Friday, May 18, 2007, at Mayfield Central Presbyterian Church, 22 N. Main Street, Mayfield, with the Rev. Bonnie Orth officiating. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the Tribes Hill Volunteer Fire Department, Mohawk Ave, Tribes Hill, NY 12177. Arrangements are under the direction of the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam.
