Obituary of George P. Vainauskas

George P. Vainauskas, 84, of County Highway 132, Hagaman, West Galway Rd., and most recently a resident of the River Ridge Living Center, LLC, passed away Friday at St. Mary?s Hospital in Amsterdam. Born on January 25, 1923 a son of Stasys and Katherine Blusas Vainauskas. He was a lifelong Amsterdam resident and attended local schools. Mr. Vainauskas worked for over 20 years at the former Mohasco Industries in Amsterdam. He also worked for 19 years as a Machinist at the General Electric Company in Schenectady. He retired in 1986. He married Adella Cwiakala Vainauskas on July 21, 1946. In addition to his wife survivors include four sons, Stephen Vainauskas, Joseph Vainauskas and his wife Dolores, Robert Vainauskas, Paul Vainauskas and his wife Deborah all of Amsterdam. One brother, Frank Vainauskas of Glen, NY. Six grandchildren, triplets, James, Tyler and Nicole Vainauskas and their brother Sam Vainauskas all of Amsterdam. Michael Vainauskas and Lisa Vainauskas. Nieces, Nephews and cousins also survive. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday February 12, 2007 at 10:00A.M. at St. Stephen?s Roman Catholic Church, Pawling St., Hagaman, NY with the Rev. Ronald Matulewicz as celebrant. Interment will be in the spring in St. Stephen?s Cemetery, Hagaman. The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday February 11, 2007 from 4:00P.M. to 7:00P.M. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Stephen?s Church, 46 Pawling St., Hagaman, NY 12086 or to a charity of one?s choice.
