Obituary of David A Yacobucci

David A. Yacobucci, 65, formerly of Sprakers, NY passed away early Monday morning at the North East Center for Special Care in Lake Katrine, NY after a long illness. Born on July, 4 1941 he was the son of the late Fred and Zola Ouderkirk Yacobucci. He was a lifelong area resident and was a graduate of Canajoharie High School. David was employed as a lock operator for the NY State Department of Transportation, Canal Division. He also worked as a dispatcher for Mid- County Ambulance and was a member of the Rural Grove Fire Department. He also was an assistant coach for the Beechie Softball Team for girls. David was very active during the Bicentennial celebration in St. Johnsville. He enjoyed talking on the CB radio and NASCAR. He was an aviation enthusiast and enjoyed reading westerns. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He was predeceased by his brothers, Neil and Paul Yacobucci. His loving family includes two daughters, Kimberly A. Yacobucci of Portsmouth, NH and Kelly A. Farquhar and her husband Bryan of Salisbury, NY; two sisters, Sonya Y. Aird and her husband David, and Karen E. Garren and her husband Robert all of Sprakers, NY; one brother, James Yacobucci and his wife Carol of Hull, MA; a sister in law, Jacqueline Yacobucci of Fayetteville, NC; two grandchildren, Connor J. Ballou and Mackenzie Farquhar; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, February 10, 2007 at 11a.m. at the Lenz & Betz Funeral Home. Interment will take place in the spring in the Ft. Plain Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Friday evening from 4 until 7 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mid- County Volunteer Ambulance Corps or to the Autism Society in care of the funeral home.
