Obituary of Warren G. Casler

Warren G. Casler, 83, of River Road, Ft. Plain passed away suddenly Monday, January 29, 2007. Born in Hallsville, NY on February 1, 1923 he was the son of the late Varnum and Hazel Cronkhite Casler. The family then moved to the Fordsbush area before residing on the River Road in Ft. Plain. He was a lifelong area resident and was a graduate of Van Hornsville School. For 32 years Warren along with his brother Varnum owned and operated the Casler Brothers Dairy Farm. Warren was also employed as a director with the Minden Insurance Company. He was a member of the Canajoharie-Ft. Plain B.P.O.E. #2621 and the Farm Bureau of Montgomery County. He also served as chairman of the FSA, was a member of the Montgomery County Cooperative Extension, served on the Board of Directors for Mt. Hope Cemetery; and was a member of St. Paul?s Lutheran Church in Ft. Plain. Warren will be remembered as a hard worker and provider, and will be missed by all who knew him. He was predeceased by his wives, Doris Fisk and Dawn Goodrich; and a brother, Gerald Casler. His loving family includes, his children, Bonnie Greco and her husband Thomas of Ft. Plain, and Larry Casler and his wife Linda of Little Falls; step- children Candice Ross and her husband Mark of Loudonville and Thomas Goodrich and his wife Joyce of Scotia; his brother Varnum Casler and his wife Evelyn of Ft. Plain; a sister in- law, Ada Casler of Ft. Plain; a brother in-law, Bill Fisk and his wife June of Ft. Plain; five grandchildren, Lori Tayas and her husband Manuel, Leisa North and her husband Paul, Lance Casler and his wife Rathiga, John and Scott Greco; 3 step- grandchildren, Sabrina Morton, Zachary and Amber Goodrich; four great- grandchildren, Anna and Benjamin Tayas and Luke and Sydney North; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, February 3, 2006 at 12:00p.m. at the Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego Street, Canajoharie with the Rev. Kenneth Dingman presiding. Interment will take place in the spring at the Ft. Plain Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited and may call from 10 until 12 prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Senior Citizens Center of Ft. Plain, St. Paul?s Lutheran Church, or to the Mid-County Volunteer Ambulance Corps in care of the funeral home.
