Obituary of Bruce Lozada

Bruce Lozada, 61, of LaFayette St., Schenectady, formerly of Amsterdam, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, January 13, 2007 at Ellis Hospital with his family by his side. He was born in Guanica, Puerto Rico on September 8, 1945 son of the late Ricardo and Esmeralda Santana Lozada. Bruce moved to the United States settling in Amsterdam with his family at the age of 18. He eventually moved to Schenectady, New York in 1989 where he resided until his untimely death. He worked as a machine operator for General Electric in Schenectady for 32 years, retiring in 1999. Bruce married the former Rosie Capote on March 21, 1997 in Schenectady. Besides his wife, Bruce is survived by two sons, Ricardo Lozada and Robert Anthony Lozada, both of Kissimmee, Florida four brothers, Jose Lozada of Kissimmee, Florida, Luis Lozada of Amsterdam, New York, Carlos Lozada of the Bronx and Victor Lozada of Miami, Florida, a sister, Rosin Lozada of Schenectady, New York, three step-grandchildren, Ricardo, Giovanni and Jonathan Cruz, and the mother of his two sons, Consuelo Lozada of Kissimmee, Florida. Several nieces and nephews also survive him. Funeral Services will be at 8:15 AM Thursday, January 18, 2007 at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, New York 12010. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 9:15 AM at St. Michael?s Church with Fr. Lawrence Decker, celebrant. The family will receive relatives and friends from 4-7 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Michael?s Cemetery following the mass.
