Obituary of Eleanore L. Jenks

Eleanore L. Jenks, 89, of Ft. Plain, New York passed away January 7, 2007 at Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown, New York. Born on September 23, 1917 in Holyoke, Massachusetts she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Yvonne Chouinard Lamoureux. Eleanor was employed at Van Wie?s Restaurant and also at Life Savers in Canajoharie. She was also a parishioner of St. James Roman Catholic Church in Ft. Plain. On August 19, 1939 she was united in marriage to Elbert L. Jenks in East Long Meadow, Massachusetts. That union lasted 37 years until his passing on December 26, 1976. She was also predeceased by her two brothers Vincent and Robert Lamoureux; and one great grandson, Dominic. Survivors include her two sons, Elbert L. ?Lee? Jenks and his wife Jo Ann of Canajoharie, New York and Robert A. Jenks and his wife Ann of Ft. Plain, New York; four grandchildren, Emelie Hayden and her husband Dr. Joel of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, Rob Jenks and his wife Darcie of Palatine Bridge, New York, Tom Jenks and his wife Crissy of Canajoharie, New York, Donata Oldick and her husband Joel of Little Falls, New York; eight great grandchildren, Andrew, Anthony, Michael, Gregory, Gabriella, Kaitlyn, Thomas and Emma; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Relatives and friends will be invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. James Roman Catholic Church in the spring. Interment will also take place in the spring at St. Peter & Paul?s Cemetery, Canajoharie. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Canajoharie Volunteer Fire Department of to the Mid-County Volunteer Ambulance Corps in care of the funeral home. The family also wishes to thank the staff of the Palatine Nursing Home for their care while she was a resident. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego Street, Canajoharie.
