Obituary of Shirley A. Alfini

Mrs.Shirley A. Alfini, 63 of Bleecker,. died Saturday at home with loving family at her side.She was born April 30, 1943 in Gloversville, daughter of Stephen and Ruth Pollack Bleyl. Mrs. Alfini was Valadictorian of her class at Wheelerville Union Free School. An avid bowler and outdoor enthusiast, she enjoyed camping and traveling, but especially loved being with grandchildren and her entire family. Shirley was employed by the Social Security Administration in Gloversville for 31 years, retiring this past August as a technical claims expert. She was also a long time active member of the Bleecker Community Church. Survivors include her husband Alfred Alfini of Bleecker whom she married February 16, 1963. Her parents of Bleecker, daughter; Lisa Rich Weatherby of O Fallon, Missouri, son; Ronald Sarah Alfini of Belleville, Ill., brothers; John Kathy Bleyl and Edward Bleyl, sister; Susan Jim Langlois, sister-in-law; SuNae Bleyl all of Bleecker. Shirley is also survived by her grandchildren: Alex Weatherby, Braydon Weatherby, Alaina Weatherby, Dominic Alfini, Tyler Gannon, and Vincent Alfini. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Mrs. Alfini was pre-deceased by a brother; Thomas Bleyl Funeral services will be conducted 11 am Thursday at the Bleecker Community Church in Bleecker, with Reverend Alan Griffith officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5-8 pm at the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home 51 Fremont Street Gloversville. Burial will be in Bleecker Lutheran Cemetery, Bleecker.
