Obituary of Doris C. Stahl

Mrs. Doris C. Terrell Stahl, age 73, of Blanchard Loop, Gloversville, died Friday morning, November 24, 2006 at her home, following a courageous battle with cancer. Doris was born June 7, 1933 in Gloversville, the daughter of the late Schuyler and Anna Karker Terrell. She was employed at the former Decca Record Company and as a waitress in the area. She was a John Hancock Life Insurance Salesperson for many years. Mrs. Stahl was active in the community for many years. She was involved in the Trinity Cadets, the American Heart Association, and was a Girl Scout Leader. She was a member of the Gloversville Women of the Moose, the Court Mayflower, and the Sacandaga Golf Club. Doris was married on July 2, 1950 to Howard J. Stahl who died January 18, 2005. She is survived by seven children, David J. Stahl and wife Gail, Norman C. Stahl and wife Arleen, Mark A. Stahl and companion Norman Landry, and Kathy Lehr, all of Mayfield, Delilah Reynolds and husband Joe of Benson, Joy A. Stahl and companion Andrew Dingman of Johnstown, and Lin M. Stahl and companion Sandra Roberts of Las Vegas; a brother, Dorwin Terrell and wife Rose of Schenectady; eleven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Fred Terrell, Delilah Stewart and Aletha Coloney. The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 7 pm Sunday at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St; Gloversville, where a memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Monday with the Rev. R. W. Williams officiating. Private interment will take place at Broadalbin Union Rural Cemetery, Broadalbin.
