Donald Fraumeni

Obituary of Donald A. Fraumeni

Donald A. Fraumeni, 71, of Log City Road, passed away unexpectedly Friday evening at St. Mary?s Hospital. Born in Amsterdam on December 14, 1934, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Caldara Fraumeni. He was educated here and was a resident his entire life. He began a career as an operating engineer in the contracting business many years ago, and retired from the Larned Construction Company in Rotterdam. He was a lifelong parishioner of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, where on November 13, 1955, he was united in marriage to the former Rose Sollecito. Donny had a great love of the outdoors, especially during the season of fall, when he was an avid hunter. He also loved to garden, and shared the fruits of his labor lovingly with family and friends. A family man, Don and his wife?s home was the center of many gatherings through the years. As a faithful friend, Donny was the first to offer any help he could to all he knew. He will be truly missed by his loving family; his wife of fifty one years, Rose Fraumeni and his children, Diane Lee Fiacco, Roseanne Joseph Hall and Joseph Fraumeni, all of Amsterdam. He was especially close to his beloved grandchildren: Joseph L. Hall, Jr., Ryan M. and Lauren N. Hall; his brother, Thomas Fraumane of Johnstown; sisters, Concetta Hess of Mesa, Arizona, and Mary Jane Abert of Hagaman as well as nieces, nephews and cousins and his best canine pal ?Molly?. He was predeceased by brothers: Samuel, Joseph and Anthony Fraumane, and sisters: Sophie Carozza and Nancy Mineconzo. Services are Tuesday at 8:15 a.m. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 9:15 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Church with Fr. Lawrence J. Decker, celebrant. Interment is in St. Michael?s Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday from 4-7 pm at the funeral home. Contributions may be made in Don?s name to the Montgomery County SPCA, in care of the funeral home office.
