Obituary of Helen L. Billington Conti

Helen L. Billington Conti, 93, formerly of the Hi-Rise Apartments, passed away peacefully Monday morning at Montgomery Meadows. Born in Amsterdam on February 3, 1913, she was the last survivor of ten children of Frank and Harriet Kelley Billington. Educated locally, she lived here her entire life. Helen worked for the Pattersonville Thruway Restaurant as a waitress for a number of years. She also was a seamstress for Briers and the White Stag Company and retired in 1975 from Montco. Helen will be remembered by her family as a loving mother who selflessly cared for her children throughout their lives. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Roman Catholic Church. In her spare time, Helen loved to play bingo with her dear friends. Her loving family includes her daughter, Ann LaGreca of Amsterdam; her son Frank A. and his wife Kathleen Conti also of Amsterdam; her grandchildren, Lisa and her husband Kamil San, Scott A. Mumby and Lori A. Mumby; her great grandson, Joseph Conti, as well as nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her infant sons, Frank L. and Joseph Conti; her grandson, Frank Conti, Jr., and siblings: Elwyn, Horace, Clyde, Clifford, Arnold and Earl Billington, Iva Whitlock, Ethel Dybas and Ruth Vilar. Services are Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:15 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Interment is in St. Michael?s Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday from 4-7 pm at the funeral home.
