Obituary of Calvin Lewis Dunckle

Calvin Lewis Dunckle, 81, of Moyer Street Canajoharie, went to be with the Lord Monday morning at home. Born on October 29, 1924 he was the son of the late Ray and Ethel Brant Dunckle. He was a lifelong area resident and the Valedictorian of the 1942 graduating class of Canajoharie High School. Mr. Dunckle worked for over 40 years for Beech-Nut in Canajoharie, retiring in 1986. . In 1943 he was drafted into WWII. He served in the United States Army until his Honorable discharge in December of 1945. Mr. Dunckle attended the Christian Church of Rural Grove. He also attended Bentley College and the Pennsylvania Military College. He is survived by his wife, June Allen Dunckle, whom he married on December 23, 1949; three sons, Mark and his wife Marcia of Sparta, New Jersey, Kevin and his wife Sandra of La Plume, Pennsylvania, and Bruce of North Carolina; five grandchildren, Jessica, Denise, Marissa, Lydia and Mark; a sister, Carol Gilmore and her husband George of Hudson Falls, New York; a brother, John Dunckle and his wife Helen of Binghamton, New York; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother, David Dunckle. It was Calvin?s request that funeral services be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will take place in the Ames Cemetery with full military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to the Christian Church of Rural Grove, in care of the funeral home.
