Obituary of Jean DiBlasi Cotugno

Jean DiBlasi Cotugno, 91, formerly of Tremont Avenue, passed away Sunday morning at the Windsor Facility in Yarmouth, Massachusetts after a brief illness. She was born in Amsterdam on October 12, 1914, to Aniello and Giovanina Pucci DiBlasi. She was a graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School and the State University of New York at Albany. A teacher for twenty-eight years, Jean taught most of that time in the Greater Amsterdam School District. Early in her career, she taught in Fonda-Fultonville and the Berlin, NY districts. She was a parishioner of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic and was a member of the New York State retired Teachers Association. Her husband, Dominick Cotugno predeceased her on July 13, 1988. Her beloved children and their spouses survive her, Arthur and Diane Cotugno of Tribes Hill, and Carol and William Miner of Massachusetts; three grandchildren; Christopher Cotugno of Jacksonville, Florida; Jennifer Cotugno and Casey Cotugno both of New Orleans, Louisiana; and nieces, nephews and cousins survive. She was predeceased by her brothers, Meadeo and Joseph DiBlasi. Services are Saturday at 8:30 am at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 9:15 am at St. Michael the Archangel Church. Interment is in St. Mary?s Cemetery, Ft. Johnson. Calling hours are Friday from 5-8 pm at the funeral home.
