Obituary of Nancy Fiorillo

Nancy Fiorillo, 84, of Zanella Road, passed away Thursday evening at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady after a sudden illness. She was born in Amsterdam where she lived her entire life, on March 25, 1922, and was the last surviving child of Peter and Josephine Cheritano Percassi. Educated locally, Nancy worked for a time for several local dress shops. A homemaker, she was a parishioner of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church. She had a great devotion to her family, in particular her cherished grandsons. Nancy enjoyed her bus trips to the casinos in her later years, right up until this past week. On her birthday, March 25, 1950, she was united in marriage to Emil M. Fiorillo. In addition to her beloved husband, she leaves her children, Michael J. and his wife Amy Fiorillo of East Brookfield, Vermont and Michele A. and her husband Roy Griffin of Coventry, Connecticut; her grandsons, Anthony and Joseph Fiorillo, and Christopher and his wife Kerri Leone, as well as nieces, nephews and cousins. A kind and considerate woman, Nancy will truly be missed and her legacy to her family and friends was to be happy. Services are Monday morning at 10:30 am at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at St. Michael the Archangel Church with Fr. Lawrence J. Decker, pastor, celebrant. Interment is in St. Michael?s Cemetery. A calling period will commence at 9:00am until the time of the service on Monday at the funeral home. It is the request of the family that in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Michael?s Memorial Fund, PO Box 699, Amsterdam.
