Obituary of Donald J. Kobuskie

Donald J. Kobuskie, 86, of Randolph, New Jersey, passed away on September 12, 2006 at Morristown Memorial Hospital. Mr. Kobuskie was born in Gloversville, NY on June 11, 1920, the son of the late John F. and Ethel Moore Kobuskie. He graduated from Gloversville High School in 1939 and then went on to take banking courses at the American Institute of Banking. He also attended Russell Sage College in Troy, enrolling in their Night Division Banking Courses. Following his education, on July 1, 1940 he was employed by Key Bank, formerly known as the Trust Company of Fulton County, where he worked until his retirement on June 30, 1982. A veteran of WWII, Mr. Kobuskie served in the VII Army Corps, and on May 19, 1946, he married Victoria Catanzaro. Before moving to Randolph, NJ in October of 1984, Mr. Kobuskie was active in several organizations in his hometown, including the Rotary Club of Gloversville, where he served as a treasurer, the Fulton County Co-Operative Extension Service, where he served as a director, and the Young Men?s Republican Group of Fulton County. After his move to Randolph, NJ, Mr. Kobuskie continued to stay active in his community as a volunteer at Randolph High School and the Randolph Public Library. He was also a member of the Senior Citizens of Randolph. Mr. Kobuskie is survived by his son, John C. Miriam Kobuskie, of Vestal, NY, and by his two daughters, Lynda J. Howard Liebermann of Succasunna, NJ and Jeanne M. Ragonesi of Morris Plains, NJ. Mr. Kobuskie is also survived by six grandchildren, Elisa Dan Lynch, Jennifer Kobuskie, Dan Liebermann, Amanda Liebermann, Mark Ragonesi and Marisa Ragonesi. Mr. Kobuskie is predeceased by his wife, Victoria Catanzaro Kobuskie, and by his son-in-law Michael Ragonesi. A visitation will be held Saturday at 10 am at the Kobuskie-Konik Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street Gloversville, NY.A prayer service will be offered at the funeral home at 11:30 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Church, Gloversville at 12 pm. Interment will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Gloversville. Donations in Mr. Kobuskie?s memory may be made to the Randolph Public Library 28 Calais Road Randolph, NJ 07869.
