Obituary of Norma C. Tomlinson

Norma C. Tomlinson, 84, of Prospect St., Amsterdam, and a resident of the E.L. Wilkinson RHCF passed away early Saturday morning September 9, 2006 at St. Mary?s Hospital in Amsterdam. Born in Amsterdam, NY on August 12, 1922 a daughter of Walter and Ethel Follett Crawford. She was a life long Amsterdam resident and was a Graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School. She was employed as a Teacher?s Aide for the Greater Amsterdam School District from 1965 to 1981. She also worked for the State of New York Canal System in Fonda NY as a Secretary. Mrs. Tomlinson was a member of the United Methodist Church in Amsterdam for many years. She married Charles R. Tomlinson Sr. on March 24, 1943; he passed away on February 12, 1994. Survivors include one son, Charles R. Tomlinson Jr. and his wife Therese of Broadalbin, NY. One daughter, Susan T. Bishop of Galway, NY. One brother, Walter V. Crawford of Glenville, NY. Three grandsons, Lucas, Brandon and Darrin Bishop of Galway, NY. Two step-granddaughters, Amy Bierle & Alena Anderson. One step-great granddaughter, Alyssa Dutcher. Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. She was pre-deceased by a brother, Warren Crawford. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday September 12, 2006 at 11:00A.M. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam with the Rev. Gregg DeSalvatore presiding. Interment will be in Hagaman Cemetery, Hagaman, NY. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday September 11, 2006 from 5:00-7:00P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Meals for the Elderly Program, Montgomery County Office for the Aging, 380 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
