Obituary of Ward L. Walsh

Ward L. ?Buddy? Walsh, 74, of Anderson Rd., Sprakers, passed away Thursday September 8, 2006, at his home. Born in Cobleskill, NY on April 16, 1932 a son of Ralph and Alice Gordon Walsh. He was a resident of the area most of his life and attended the former Susan B. Anthony one room school. He was a U.S. Army Veteran from 1952 to 1960 serving for a time in Germany and during the Korean War. He was a life member of the VFW Post 942 in Fonda, NY. Mr. Walsh was an avid Hunter and woodsman as well as a loving father and grandfather. He worked for over 27 years as a construction worker with the Local 157 Union of Schenectady, NY. He married Leda Klingbil Walsh who survives. In addition to his wife survivor?s include four sons, Wayne Walsh and his wife Laura of Oakridge, N.J., Dean Walsh and Judy Russo of Tribes Hill, NY., Ward Walsh Jr. of Amsterdam and Richard Walsh and his wife Cindy of Sprakers, NY. Seven sisters, Edna J., Florence Mary, Muriel E., Roselyn Joyce, Wanetta, Dorothy Mae, and Laura Ann. Three Brothers, Charles Walsh, William Walsh and Ralph Walsh. Four grandchildren, Loreen, Melissa, Tanya and Sabrina. Nieces, Nephews and cousins also survive. Mr. Walsh was pre-deceased by two brothers, Harold Walsh, & Raymond Walsh. A Legacy Candle Ceremony will be held on Monday, September 11, 2006 at 11:00A.M. at the Jackson & Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main St. Fultonville. Full Military Honors will follow. The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday September 10, 2006 from 2:00-5:00P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will be held at a later date in Maple Ave, Cemetery, Fultonville, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to the VFW Post 942, Fonda, NY 12068.
