Obituary of Emma Hall Brown

Emma Hall Brown, 75, of Gloversville, passed away on Friday, August 25, 2006. Born in Macon Georgia, on July 9, 1931, she was the daughter of the late George Hall and Rosalie Cogle. She was educated in Gloversville schools, and later, worked as a glove maker for St. Thomas. Emma is survived by her sons William Anthony Jodi Brown of Gloversville, Rev. Melvin Elliott Maria Brown of Albany, Rodney Brown of Gloversville, and Todd Joy Brown of Gloversville. She is also survived by her daughter Yvonne Brown of Gloversville, and by her stepdaughter Sharon Brown of Chicago. Also surviving are her brothers, Benjamin Christine Hall, and John Gloria Hall, and her sister, Rena John Mathias, all of Gloversville. Emma is also survived by her 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Emma is predeceased by her husband, William Brown, by her sons James Phillip Brown and Eric Vincent Brown, by her granddaughter Toinette Brown and by her great-grandson Jerome Brown Jr. She is also predeceased by her brothers, Charlie Hall, Murray Hall, E.L Hall, Jessie Lee Hall, and George Hall and by her sister Rosalie Horton, her sister in law, Maude Hall, and her cousin James Cathy Brown. A visitation will be held for friends and family from 6-8 on Monday, August 28 at the Kobuskie-Konik Funeral Home at 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville. Funeral services for Emma will be held on Tuesday, August 29, at 11 am at the Peoples AME Zion Church, in Gloversville, with the Rev. Ruby J. Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Gloversville.
