Obituary of Isabel C. Moran

Isabel C. Moran, 84, of South Pawling Street, Hagaman, passed away Saturday morning at St. Mary?s Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Lowell, Massachusetts on October 27, 1921, the daughter of Andrew and Isabel Williamson Caddell, she moved to Amsterdam as a child where she since has lived. Isabel graduated from Wilbur H. Lynch High School and later business school. For many years, she served as personal secretary for Mr. Herbert T. Shuttleworth at Mohasco until she retired. She was a proud of her Scottish heritage, and was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, and a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Isabel had a great love for animals, especially her dogs, and so she was a member of the Southern Adirondack Dog Club. Her beloved husband, John W. Moran predeceased her in January of 1968. A brother, James Caddell, and a sister, Ruth Green also predeceased her. Her loving family includes her children, Andrea M. Moran of Hagaman, Pamela I. Moran of Paradise, California, and John W. and his wife Gwen Sagatis Moran of Laurenceville, Georgia; her grandchildren, Sean, Justin and Matthew Smith, and Amy Moran; a great-granddaughter, Kaylee Smith as well as nieces, nephews and cousins. A celebration of her life will take place on Saturday at 1:00 pm at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue. Relatives and friends are invited and may call from 11:00 am to 1 pm prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Hagaman Volunteer Fire Department.
