Obituary of Marion L. Kearns

Mrs. Marion L. Kearns, age 87 of Broadalbin, died Thursday evening, July 27, 2006 at Wells Nursing Home, Johnstown, following a long illness. She was born July 23, 1919 in Providence, R.I., the daughter of the late Henry and Rose Marcel Lundquist. She was a graduate of Richfield Springs High School in Richfield Springs, NY and also a graduate of St. Peter?s School of Nursing, Albany. A registered nurse, Marion was employed in the operating room at Albany Medical Center, and later worked at a private medical practice in New York City. After World War II, she and her husband, the late Dr. Richard Kearns, moved to Broadalbin where they raised their family. Mrs. Kearns was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Broadalbin. She is survived by five children, Pamela Terlaak-Poot, John Kearns and Ingrid Petoff of Broadalbin, Claudia Birn of Basking Ridge, NJ and Marion ?Marcie? Bangert of Beverly, MA; two brothers, Raymond Lundquist of Augusta, GA and Alfred Lundquist of Mohawk, NY; eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Shanley Murray of Schenectady, and by her brothers, Norman and Henry Lundquist. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm Monday at Jeffords & Stewart Funeral Home, 85 W. Main St; Broadalbin, where a prayer service will be conducted 9:30 am Tuesday, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Joseph's Church, Broadalbin. Interment will take place at Broadalbin Mayfield Rural Cemetery, Broadalbin.
