Obituary of Stanley J. Behlen

Mr. Stanley J. Behlen, 76 of Gloversville, died Tuesday, July 25 after being stricken. He was born in Gloversville on March 19, 1930, son of the late Frank Letson and Ada May Halstead Behlen. Mr. Behlen was a graduate of Gloversville High School and SUNY Canton. He was employed for many years in the foundry department of General Electric Co. Mr. Behlen was an Army veteran serving from 1954 to 1956. Although he had several friendships, Stanley was a private person and especially enjoyed spending time alone at the family farm in his earlier years. He is survived by a sister, Ruth M. Britt of Queensbury, a brother; Letson Behlen of St. Cloud, Fla. And his special long time friends: Gail and Bob Patterson Jr. and their daughter Stacie Zambri. He is also survived by nieces and nephews. Mr. Behlen was pre-deceased by a sister; Lois Stanyon. There will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held 11 am Friday at Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville.
