Obituary of Joanne S. Mullarkey

Joanne S. Wojcik Mullarkey, 70, of Locust Avenue, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning at St. Mary?s Hospital after a lengthy illness. Her beloved husband was at her side. Born in Amsterdam on June 8, 1936, she was the daughter of Joseph Wojcik, Sr., and Sophie Lesczynski Wojcik. She was a graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School. She worked for ten years at the Naval Supply Depot in Scotia and later was a homemaker. Joanne will be remembered as a devoted mother, a loving wife and special grandmother. She was a lifelong communicant of St. Stanislaus? Roman Catholic Church, where on September 23, 1956, she was united in marriage to Joseph B. Mullarkey, Sr. In addition to her husband of nearly fifty years, she leaves her children, Joseph B., Jr. and his wife Patricia Mullarkey of the Town of Florida; James P. Mullarkey and Karen A. Mullarkey both of Amsterdam; a brother, Joseph and his wife Anne Wojcik of Hagaman; a sister, Jacqueline and her husband Walter Guiles of Guilderland; five grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; an aunt, Stella Wojcik of Amsterdam and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Services are Friday at 8:45 am at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, followed by a Funeral Mass, which will be offered at 9:30 am at St. Stanislaus? Church. Fr. Pascal A. Iannotti, celebrant. Interment is in St. Stanislaus? Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday from 4-7 pm at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to The Liberty Foundation or the Special Olympics both in care of the funeral home.
